    1. lol - I never even noticed it. There are so many spiders everywhere... the little ones are flying around leaving their threads all over the place. I'm always brushing webs off of my arms and my face when hiking. Sometimes, if there's been no one else through in a while and it's really thick, I'll even pick up and wave a stick around in front of me so I'm not walking through so many. "Blechnum spicant" is a species of fern in the family polypodiaceae, known by the common names hard-fern or deer fern. It is native to Europe and western North America. Like some other "Blechnum" it has two types of leaves. The sterile leaves have flat, wavy-margined leaflets 5 to 8 millimeters wide, while the fertile leaves have much narrower leaflets, each with two thick rows of sori on the underside.
