Camponotus_consobrinus_eats_Christinus_marmoratus_1_May_2016 Sugar Ants (Camponotus consobrinus) consume the corpse of a Marbled Gecko (Christinus marmoratus) on my driveway. I had actually noticed it the day before and at that time the gecko was pretty much whole and fresh. Took them a day to strip it down to the bone! Sugar Ants (Camponotus consobrinus) consume the corpse of a Marbled Gecko (Christinus marmoratus) on my driveway. I had actually noticed it the day before and at that time the gecko was pretty much whole and fresh. Took them a day to strip it down to the bone!

The banded sugar ant, also known as the sugar ant, is a species of ant endemic to Australia. Its common name refers to the ant's liking for sugar and sweet food, as well as the distinctive orange-brown band that wraps around its gaster.
