    1. Not dumb I should have taken a shot at an angle that best represents the association to a shrimp. At this angle you really need to look but the pinkish leaves overlaying one another form the tail which ends with a white tip along with a string like fiber coming out the very tip of each cluster. I will try to get a better angle next time I see one (if I see one again). Posted 9 years ago

"Justicia brandegeeana", the Mexican shrimp plant, shrimp plant or false hop, is an evergreen shrub in the genus "Justicia" of the acanthus family Acanthaceae, native to Mexico, and also naturalized in Florida.
