    Nailed it.

    I particularly like the haltera drum stick, removing any doubt that it is a fly.

The Pycnomalla splendens

Pycnomalla splendens is a species from the family of the weapon flies (Stratiomyidae). The scientific name of the species is the first validly published in 1787, by Fabricius.
