Red Tsingy | Tsingy Rouge full site
This is the entirety of the Red Tsingy, as seen from the parking lot nearby. It's a fairly small site to visit, expect to see it all in about 30 mins, yet taking almost your entire day to get there and back :)
Contrary to Madagascar's limestone tsingy, these spikes are short-lived, and did not exist 50 years ago. They are a result of deforestation, after which erosion by water and wind shaped the underlying rock, which is not limestone, it is laterite (a type of clay).
