Paraplectana duodecimmaculata - Ladybird Mimic
It was a pleasant surprise to find this arachnid. Yes, it is a spider, and one of the best mimicry examples I have ever seen. The ladybird is an excellent choice of mimic subject, as it excretes a foul tasting fluid which birds soon learn to give a wide birth.
I have only seen this spider once, but wonder how many times have I walked past. From now on, the look gets added to my list of observations, as I would love to get more shots.
Location is Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. Alongside a stream and paddy fields.
