    1. I was happy to find one in such good condition. Unlike fall, we don't have tons of spring fruiting mushrooms, so finding such a nice one and a brand new species was a bonus. Posted 9 years ago

Helvella compressa is characterized by a dark grey to grey-brown, saddle-shaped cap, a pubescent, pale sterile lower surface and a relatively smooth, white stipe.
