    1. lol - I actually was able to get quite close to observe these bees. They weren't aggressive at all (I guess I can be assured they were not africanized bees!). I'd be curious to know what happened to them. Honey bees don't build paper nests like wasps, so they would have needed to find a hole in a tree or crack in a building to build a hive in. The western honey bee or European honey bee is the most common of the 7–12 species of honey bee worldwide. The genus name "Apis" is Latin for "bee", and "mellifera" is the Latin for "honey-bearing", referring to the species' production of honey.
