  1. That's funny, your photo instantly reminds me of this:

Macro habitat Just a quick snap of the habitat I have been visiting to take most of my recent macro shots. It's just a small pond with wild vegetation, yet so very rich in insect life. Geotagged,Heesch,Macro,The Netherlands

It's a tiny pond close to where I live with some wild growth. Every summer it transforms into my little macro paradise.

    1. Indeed yes! Similarities are great! And by looking at your photo it is wonderful to imagine what can be found in that area ;) Above, in my photo, is a small water flowing river, now streaming. Only in summer there are parts of the river bed that form some stationary ponds, like the ones seen in your photo. Gomphidae, Corduliidae, are now emerging here. Libellulidae will soon follow ;) Posted 9 years ago
      1. You're ahead in the season, did my first walk of the year last weekend, absolutely nothing to be found. No blooming flowers, no insects, nothing. Posted 9 years ago
        1. More or less :) In fact, I'm more at the south of Portugal, last 10 days we were flushed by rain every single day, and very low temps, april is usually very rainy. In the North it is all covered by snow, as we speak ;) Spring is always very unstable, may, june, is more reliable according to the weather. Early springtime species are always very desirable because they tend to appear in a season not so appreciated by humans ;) Posted 9 years ago
