Jacana - aka 'Big Foot'
I was absolutely thrilled to spot this bird on the local pond yesterday as I have always wanted to see one, those feet are incredible! Not easy to photograph as it was very nervous and would not stand still. Hopefully it will hang around and I can get some better photos.

African jacanas are waders in the family Jacanidae, identifiable by long toes and long claws that enable them to walk on floating vegetation in shallow lakes, their preferred habitat. Jacanas are found worldwide within the tropical zone, and this species is found in sub-saharan Africa.
