Blue-fronted Yellow-shouldered Amazon
The Blue-fronted Yellow-shouldered Amazon is a subspecie of the Blue-fronted Amazon. This one is cheering up a dull brick background in the Papegaaienpark Veldhoven, the Netherlands, a refugee for tropical birds held as a pet.
Note that a request for JungleDragon to sponsor one of the aviaries in the park is pending, so soon we'll have our own cage and bird.
The Blue-fronted Amazon , also called the Turquoise-fronted Amazon and Blue-fronted Parrot, is a South American species of Amazon parrot and one of the most common Amazon parrots kept in captivity as a pet or companion parrot. Its common name is derived from the distinctive blue marking on its head just above its beak.
