The anomalous nawab is a butterfly found in Asia that belongs to the rajahs and nawabs group, that is, the Charaxinae group of the brush-footed butterflies family. The name is based on their resemblance to the common nawab ''Charaxes athamas'', which was described prior to the discovery of the species.

I am from the entomology section of the Tasmanian Museum & Art Gallery. We are developing a non-commercial Lucid key for the identification of caterpillars to family or lower taxon. When published online late August it will be available to anyone for their use, free of charge. We would love to use your superb image that shows an unusual development of the head scoli characteristic of several nymphalid subfamilies. This image is particularly good as it also shows the frontoclypeus of the face, thus confirming that the projections are on the head capsule. Full image credit will be given, of course.
