Crowned Lemur male eye contact, Amber Mountain, Madagascar A happy moment on our 2nd day in Amber Mountain. After seeing the Amber Mountain Rock Thrush earlier in the morning, seeing this lemur meant we had checked of the &quot;must see&quot; species. This lemur has a narrow distribution in the north with only a few thousand individuals. Here we see the male with its typical white face and crowned haircut. <br />

The crowned lemur is a lemur that is 31–36 cm long and weighs 2 kg. Its tail is about 42–51 cm long. The crowned lemur is endemic to the dry deciduous forests of the northern tip of Madagascar. It eats a diet of mostly flowers, fruits, and leaves.
