Bothrogonia addita – Leafhopper
Colorful and easy to spot on the green of the scrubland, but difficult to get near for the shot. Sometimes I think I should just get me a net, and put them in the fridge for 5 minutes – but no, where’s the challenge in that. David Baily doesn’t put the kids in the fridge to stop them fidgeting, he is a professional.
One thing that I have learned in three years of snapping bugs. They live lives also, and they have been doing it a lot longer than humans. The reason that they don’t have massive brains and build brick houses, is that they reached evolutionary perfection and did not need the massive brain. This is a perfection that the human genus will never achieve.
Location is Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. Alongside a stream and paddy fields.

I have always been fascinated by evolution, especially after reading Wallace.
