Lymantria monacha - Nun Moth Location is Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. Alongside a stream and paddy fields.<br />

I wear glasses to be able to use the computer, so it is amazing that I find any bugs at all, as I hate wearing glasses with the camera.<br />

Back at the lab, I pulled the image up and was immediately struck by the face pattern. I really hate researching moths, probably because I have not done enough, but this one came up pretty quick.<br />

It is mostly recorded as a European moth, but has been recorded as far as Japan. But two other photographers have images of the same moth within a hundred miles of my location.<br />

    1. Ha! it is not easy, all that getting up and down.

      What was the problem with the Bandung bugs site, I will try to fix it.

      I just registered as a new user and it worked.

The black arches or nun moth is a small Palaearctic moth. It is considered a forest pest.
