Rhynchium haemorrhoidale - potter wasp This is a very attractive, yet dangerous looking wasp. It made me take a couple of steps back the first time I saw it. I soon learned that it is completely non-aggressive, and is only interested in finding its next grub, to enclose in a living tomb, primed with an egg.
I don’t see this one very often, maybe once a year, but easy to approach.
1. Not aggressive at all, it only uses other living things as a nest ;) Posted 3 years ago
    1. LOL, indeed, but it probably figured that I was overweight and therefore too big. It was eyeing up my camera though. Probably were humans got the idea for wearing cows on our feet and leopards on our backs etc.
