As is often the case in the bug world, mating must be performed with extreme care. During the courtship routine, I have even seen the male tying yo the sharp end of the female, in a rather futile attempt at longevity. Many males wait until the female is feeding before climbing aboard and delivering his packet.
Location is Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. Alongside a stream and paddy fields.

"Nephila pilipes" is a species of golden orb-web spider. It resides all over countries in East and Southeast Asia as well as Oceania. It is commonly found in primary and secondary forests and gardens.
