Africa's most feared snake Detailed shot of an Egyptian cobra in attack position, with the tongue out. It's a poor shot, but since we have few cobra pics at this point, I wanted to share this cobra behavior anyway. Egyptian cobra,Naja haje,Oliemeulen,Reptiles, cobra, snakes Click/tap to enlarge

  1. I hope you were not too close on this one, it must have been scary to make the shot with a 100mm. I did not know it was such a fearsome bugger, interesting fact! And it does not have to be a great shot to tell a great story. If all shots were great there would be contrast lacking, thus rendering them boredom. So it's all about the looking glass, just like Alice;-) Posted 13 years ago, modified 13 years ago
    1. Appearantly this cobra makes most of its (human) kills in Asia, whilst it is the most feared in Africa, along with the black mamba. It's behind glass though, so it wasn't that scary :) Posted 13 years ago
      1. They need to be more careful in Asia then. Behind glass sounds a lot safer, as long as your lens is not the only glass between it and you;) Have fun! Posted 13 years ago
