Common Kingfisher Sep 25, 2015. Seen during a night boat tour in the sides of the river, sleeping in branches. I am not sure of the species. It could be a female or juvenile of the blue eared but I am inclined for the common kingfisher because its color was more greenish than that of the blue eared. Common Kingfisher

Sep 25, 2015. Seen during a night boat tour in the sides of the river, sleeping in branches. I am not sure of the species. The Common Kingfisher

The Common Kingfisher is a small kingfisher with seven subspecies recognized within its wide distribution across Eurasia and North Africa. It is resident in much of its range, but migrates from areas where rivers freeze in winter.
