Peltoschema hamadryas Acacia leaf beetles include many species. Some can be very prolific and cause devastation on silver wattle populations. Paropsisterna hamadryas has a complex dark pattern on the elytra. This pattern can range from almost absent to almost entirely black. All of the 95 species in the genus Peltoschema have two posterior pronotal bristles called "trichobothria". If you look closely you can see these on the pale (larger) beetle.
