      Yes the elytral puncturations seem to reflect light at different angles. There are several that do this.
      Calomela ioptera A common Acacia leaf beetle with blue coloring in the elytral puncturations. The puncturations tend towards random placement, particularly in the middle.       That is exactly what happened. I sometimes capture them for photographic purposes if the light is bad or the camera is not on hand. Posted 9 years ago
