        1. Thanks Ferdy its funny when you are there waiting for this little bird to come to the flower and when it does arrive its just like a little moth only staying for seconds and you sit back and wonder if that really was a bird. Stunning little bird. Posted 2 years ago

  2. Thats the tricky part , i watched it come and go a few times and was sure it would return to a particular flower then just waited hand holding the 500mm lens hoping my arms would not give in before the Asity came back to feed. A fair bit of luck also. Posted 2 years ago

The yellow-bellied sunbird-asity is a small species of passerine bird from the asity family. The male has black upper parts with a bluish sheen and yellow underparts, and is sometimes known simply as the yellow-bellied asity. It is found only in montane rainforests of Madagascar where it feeds on nectar that it sips from flowers, defending a good nectar source from other nectar-feeding birds. It is listed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature as "vulnerable" due to the diminution.. more
