Eggfruit Caterpillar moth (Sceliodes cordalis)
This moth rests propped on it's splayed wings with it's abdomen hooked into the air (female send messages?).
Rich ochre, tan and white tones in wing patterns.Found high on the wall under strong light at night.
Also commonly called Poroporo Fruit Borer in NZ and Eggfruit Caterpillar in Australia.
Note some scales are missing particularly on the nearer wing.
The caterpillars are an agricultural pest on various members of the family Solanacea, tunneling into the stems and fruit.

"Leucinodes cordalis", the Poroporo fruit borer or Eggfruit caterpillar, is a species of moth in the Crambidae family. It is found in New Zealand, Australia and Indonesia. In Australia, it has been reported from Norfolk Island, the Northern Territory, Queensland, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia.
