Paropsis minor
This brightly striped beetle is found along the east coast of Australia. It is the smallest species of Paropsis and anomalous due to its bright transverse patterns, striate puncturations and feeding on tea tree rather than Eucalyptus.
This is the southern tip of its range and the first time it has been recorded so far south.

I will visit Gunter in Brisbane tomorrow. He is the Paropsis expert. Of course I am there for Paropsisterna. We will do a field trip in the Brisbane Valley (not Fortitude Valley). Watch this space. Posted 9 years ago
