  1. In Europe we have one relative from the same Alucitidae family, Alucita hexadactyla. They are one of the most exquisite moths that I have ever seen. Their wing morphology is quite remarkable in terms of evolution. Great capture! cheers* Posted 9 years ago
    1. Thanks for that. Yes I think I remember discussing that species with a Spanish friend.
      Those wings sure are fascinating aren't they.. moths trying out bird feathers for a while. :)

''Alucita phricodes'' is a species of moth of the Alucitidae family. It is found from the Atherton Tableland in Queensland to Batemans Bay in New South Wales. The wingspan is about 10 mm. The larvae feed on the buds and flowers of ''Pandorea jasminoides'' and ''Pandorea pandorana''.
