Red Delicate (Epicyme rubropunctaria)
A striking looking small geometrid with red and white patterns punctuated with a couple of severe cigarette burn marks on each fore wing. Who would do such a thing!
Wingspan about 24mm.
Found in a local nature reserve adjoining national park.
''Epicyme rubropunctaria'' is a moth of the Geometridae family. It is found in New Zealand, the Australian Capital Territory, Tasmania and Victoria.
The wingspan is about 25 mm. The larvae have been recorded feeding on plants in the genera ''Haloragis'', ''Gaultheria'' and ''Geranium''.
