    1. Thanks. Sometimes I wish they would land on plain backgrounds though. Posted 9 years ago
      1. ;) I understand! They like to hang on branches or leaves, also. But I really never saw any Synthemistidae and after you post this species I made some reading about this anisoptera family. Well, fascinating, in a word.
in evolutionary terms, I just read, is an ancient family of dragonflies, and looking at their physiognomy is very easy to remember the morphology of Gomphidae, Macromiidae, Corduliidae... I've been studying Odonata for the last few years and i'm always seeing new and remarkable families, groups, countless species, and more important the direct habitat of which they depend. And that is quite something if we want to understand the implications of habitat loss, water quality, etc... Well, dragonflies ;) Thank you so much for your time ;) Hope to see a lot more dragonflies of the antipodes! My best, cheers*

        1. Thanks again ..plenty more to come. I have resisted the temptation to dig into Odonata and their evolution so your inputs are be invaluable. Amazing creatures.. just pests to photograph when you want all those nice details. (although Phasmids are worse :) ) Posted 9 years ago
