Flower bugs hanging on to tree, Marojejy, Madagascar
I had seen this species before a few times, but finally I found some at ground level. Here's one individual:

From a distance they bugs look like a flower, both as an individual as when they are clustered as a group.
The Flatida coccinea is a planthopper bug that is endemic to Madagascar. Literature has little details on this specie, yet casual observation shows the insect having a bizarre flower-shaped attachment on its back that likely is used for camouflage. In addition, the insects seem to live together in large groups, collectively creating the illusion of a plant in bloom.
