  2. What a fabulous structure and waterproof too.
    I noticed there are two.. C hirta (Russian tent spider) and C parnasia (Small Russian tent spider) so it looks like Peter Chew has mixed them up.
    Still nobody can tell me why they're Russian though. http://www.arachne.org.au/01_cms/details.asp?ID=2262

    1. When I spotted these nets the first time I did not know they where called that but I thought " WOW they look like the old circus tent from the Russian Circus in Europe..." I guess that's were they got the name from.. :) Posted 9 years ago
