The Blackleg Tortoiseshell or Large Tortoiseshell is a butterfly of the family Nymphalidae. Although it looks very like the Small Tortoiseshell, it is more closely related to the Camberwell Beauty. It is found in Europe, northern Africa, and western Asia.
