  1. This Common Buzzard (Buteo Buteo) wasn't at all disturbed by me getting so close, he was even sleeping from time to time, just to open an occasional eye to see what I was up to. Never been so close to one and holding the camera...

    1. Well done Kurt as always. I know that feeling of adrenaline when you just know you're close enough to wild animal to make a good shot yet any wrong move can ruin the entire moment. Posted 13 years ago

The common buzzard is a medium-to-large bird of prey, whose range covers most of Europe and extends into Asia. It is usually resident year-round, except in the coldest parts of its range, and in the case of one subspecies.
