Komodo warrior at rest
This Komodo Dragon is at ease in a reptile park in the Netherlands, preserving energy and heating up by the lamps. In the wild, these creatures are known for being the top predator on some Indonesian Islands, not to mention their prehistoric appearance. Moreover, their unusually cruel hunting strategy is unique in its kind. They attack cattle or other large prey by their venomous bite and then stalk the prey for weeks until it collapses. Often, they'll start eating whilst the prey is still alive.

The Komodo dragon is a large species of lizard found in the Indonesian islands of Komodo, Rinca, Flores, Gili Motang, and Padar. A member of the monitor lizard family, it is the largest living species of lizard, growing to a maximum length of 3 metres in rare cases and weighing up to approximately 70 kilograms.
