Toothless bull ant (Myrmecia fulvipes) A nest of fairly large ants, very active, with red femurs, golden abdomens and &#039;toothless&#039; jaws. <br />
Size between a Jumping Jack and a Bulldog ant... about 18mm. Very aggressive.<br />
Found in a local nature reserve with dry, open sclerophyll. eucalyptus forest.<br />

"Myrmecia fulvipes", or another name the "Jack Jumper" ant is a bull ant belonging the "Myrmecia" genus. Native to Australia, these bull ants are commonly located in Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland.
