
Aplysia oculifera is member of a genus of medium-sized to extremely large sea slugs, specifically sea hares, which are one clade of large sea slugs, marine gastropod mollusks.
This is a brown to olive-green sea hare flecked with white and usually with small white and brown ocelli on the sides of its parapodia. The parapodia are tall and ruffled. This species is characterised by the small brown eye-spots all over the head and parapodia.
