Eucalyptus Leaf Beetle ( Paropsisterna annularis)
A brightly coloured beetle about 6 or 7 mm long. There were two prominent specks of gold on each elytron and two other paler ones nearer the apices- the last 6 specks of gold form a ring or "annulus", hence the specific name. Segmented antennae were held out.
Spotted on a Red Box Eucalyptus tree in a nature reserve.
