  1. I've heard that in and around some Australian cities, both birds and insects can keep people from sleeping. Do you recognize that? Posted 9 years ago
    1. None of our birds make persistent loud noise at night but these cicadas sure do. One of the loudest insects in the world.
      The lack of sleep is more often because they only call if the night is unbearably hot. If you grow up with it then it's actually quite comforting and they have a habit of phasing in and out together in a very hypnotic way :)
