
Oryzoborus nuttingi, female on aloe
In the old fortress (Fortaleza de San Carlos) there is hardly a soul, the gringos raid shops and restaurants ans I had the park to myself.
I watched this little female pick among the trees. Could have done with better light but still.

The Nicaraguan seed finch is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae. It is found in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Panama. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist shrubland, swamps, and heavily degraded former forest. The scientific name of this bird commemorates the zoologist Charles Cleveland Nutting.
