Found during a night tour near camp 2 on Marojejy mountain. These frogs were remarkably approachable, not responding at all to our movement and not even to light. Species to be identified, I will ask John for help.

    Yellowish/striped tree frog in Marojejy, Madagascar Found during a night tour near camp 2 in Marojejy, Madagascar. Species is yellowish with striped legs. Small detail is that it seems to have a scar near its eye. Underside:<br />

    ? If not Boophis axelmeyeri, another similar-looking species recorded from not too far away (but only south of Masoala in Glaw & Vences) is Boophis madagascariensis.

"Boophis madagascariensis" is a species of frog in the Mantellidae family. It is endemic to Madagascar. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, rivers, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marshes, and heavily degraded former forest.
