Arriving in Camp Marojejia, Marojejy On our 2nd day on Marojejy, we did the hike from camp 1 to camp 2, also called camp Marojejia. It's a short hike of 2 km only, with a steep end. In this scene you can see the "leaning rock", the Ambatotsondrona peak. Note the small stream on the rocky plain. If you'd follow it (it's just around the corner in this photo), the rock ends into a steep cliff. As it is a weak stream only and due to the rock being horizontal, you can simply sit at the very end of this "waterfall" and look downwards. We spend several hours here in the morning and evening just for the view.

Elevation at this point is 775 m (2,543 ft). Out of the 3 camps, this one is reported to be best for trying to find the Silky Sifaka. It is strongly recommended that you hire a local specialist for this (a Simpona tracker). Africa,Geotagged,Madagascar,Madagascar North,Marojejy,Spring,World Click/tap to enlarge
