Madagascar girdled lizard, Marojejy, Madagascar I have some doubt about the ID. Most reference photos show an uninterrupted yellow stripe across the body whilst this one has it striped. It could be a juvenile, but I'm not sure. Madagascar girdled lizard, Marojejy, Madagascar

I have some doubt about the ID. Most reference photos show an uninterrupted yellow stripe across the body whilst this one has it striped. It could be a juvenile, but I'm not sure.

  1. I would guess that this is a young Zonosaurus rufipes. Glaw & Vences says "Dorsally brown, dorsolateral bands poorly defined or absent. Flanks, hands and feet often reddish. Throat with characteristic longitudinal black lines." (You don't happen to have a photo of the throat, do you?) Specifically reported from Marojejy. Posted 9 years ago
