Great Skua (Stercorarius_skua)
Also known as bonxies in the Shetlands. These birds are alike the size of some big gulls and predate on the chicks of other species/smaller birds in general. They are also very protective with their nesting areas on the grasslands of the clifftops. If you happen to pass nearby they will fly very close and even try to attack your heads (better to have your head protected just in case).

The great skua is a large seabird in the skua family Stercorariidae. The name skua is believed to originate from the Faroese ''skúvur'' and is the only known bird name to originate from the Faroes that has come into regular use elsewhere. In Britain, it is sometimes known by the name bonxie, a Shetland name of Norse origin.
