Dragon Sea Moth What do you think about this tiny dragon sea moth? the first thing it came to me is that it looks like a little man. Excellent camouflage!
These fishes have the ability to change colors based on its surroundings. They can shed their skin like a snake in a single piece. They also have two wing like fins that extend out on either side of their bodies. I often saw them in couples. They can be found in the sea grass bottoms where they mimetize very well with their surroundings.
1. I am not sure what to think of it, it is so weird and unique that I don't know how to categorize it at all :) Posted 9 years ago
 2. Yes, I agree. I have other pics of this species that I will share later and in which they have other colors and look more like a fish but this one just looked like a little Frankenstein from above, really curious! :-) Posted 9 years ago

The little dragonfish or short dragonfish, among various other vernacular names, ''Eurypegasus draconis'', is a species of marine fish in the family Pegasidae.

The little dragonfish is widespread throughout the tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific, Red Sea included. This small fish can grow up to 10 cm length. The little dragonfish sheds it skin in one piece. It is estimated that millions of these kind of fish are sold for traditional medicine each year in China and Hong Kong alone.
