Coyote Soaking Up the Sun
This picture was taken mid morning in Maine at the Gray Wildlife Park. Being the only remaining coyote at the park has made her very shy to people and other animals with the exception of one of her caretakers. With the help of some raw meat, her caretaker was able to lure our local coyote out of hiding for a short amount of time allowing me to snap this photo. For such a shy girl, she does have quite the personality when food is involved.

The coyote, also known as the American jackal or the prairie wolf, is a species of canine found throughout North and Central America, ranging from Panama in the south, north through Mexico, the United States and Canada. It occurs as far north as Alaska and all but the northernmost portions of Canada.
