Mouse buzzard sitting in a tree by the road, patiently waiting for its prey...
Unfortunately, I had gotten into his comfort zone - I could take this one photo before he flew away - all the cars passing underneath his tree didn't seem to bother him, but a pedestrian with a clicking camera was more than he would bear.
The common buzzard is a medium-to-large bird of prey, whose range covers most of Europe and extends into Asia. It is usually resident year-round, except in the coldest parts of its range, and in the case of one subspecies.
