
Fennec Fox
This little Fennec fox was photographed at the St.Louis zoo in St.Louis, Missouri. He is in a bed and selerated from the other because he was sick. Although he was photographed in St.Louis, Missouri they are native to the Sahara and elsewhere in North Africa. The scientific name for a Fennec Fox is Vulpes zerda.

The fennec fox or fennec is a small nocturnal fox found in the Sahara of North Africa. Its most distinctive feature is its unusually large ears, which serve to dissipate heat. Its name comes from the Arabic word فنك , which means ''fox'', and the species name ''zerda'' comes from the Greek word ''xeros'' which means dry, referring to the fox's habitat.
