Found on the forest floor in the morning of our 3rd day there. I'm having trouble finding any useful info on Madagascar crab species.

  1. I cant tell from the photo the size or whether one claw is significantly larger than the other.
    Two possibilities that I can find:
    Perisesarma bidens
    Cardisoma carnifex

    1. Thanks so much, Claire! The claws are of equal size, also checked on a few other photos in the series. That makes Perisesarma bidens the more likely candidate, right? Posted 9 years ago
