  1. This bird has been identified as a juvenile Northern Goshawk and was observed on an old trail south of the community of Watson Lake, Yukon. They are not frequently seen in the area. Posted 10 years ago

The northern goshawk is a species of medium-large bird of prey in the family Accipitridae, a family which also includes other extant diurnal raptors, such as eagles, buzzards and harriers.
