Posing Leopard - The King of Good TImes
Sitting atop a big rock the fellow was spotted accidently by a tourist in the jungle of Pench, India. It gave us enough time and posses to get some nice shots. Most of us go looking for Tigers but after seeing this fellow I realised that these guys are as beautiful as the tiger. They are solitary animals and are very shy. Their ability to climb trees and drag their kill (nearly their weight) up a tree makes them different from other cats. Very strong shoulders help them to do so. Can laze on trees for hours.
This was my first leopard sighting and also photograph, a special treat.

The Indian leopard is a leopard subspecies widely distributed on the Indian subcontinent and classified as "Near Threatened" by IUCN since 2008. The species "Panthera pardus" may soon qualify for the "Vulnerable" status due to habitat loss and fragmentation, heavy poaching for the illegal trade of skins and body parts in Asia, and persecution due to conflict situations.
