Assam roofed turtle (Pangshura sylhetensis)
Assam roofed turtle (Pangshura sylhetensis), is critically endangered species endemic to Assam and only seen in Jia Bharali river which runs through Nameri National Park. This turtle was wash away to main land due to flood which was released back in its habitat.
The Assam roofed turtle , also known as Sylhet roofed turtle is a species of the Geoemydidae family of turtles found in the Brahmaputra-Meghna drainage in India and parts of eastern Bangladesh. It was formerly in the ''Batagur'' genus and defunct genus ''Kachuga''.
