White-Crowned Sparrow, Missouri
One gorgeous December evening, I jumped out the door, camera in hand, ready to shoot some birds. Though common this time of the year, it was still a challenge for me to grab a picture of this energetic bird as it flew from tree to tree and bush to bush. But in the end I was left with some very appetizing photos.

The white-crowned sparrow is a species of passerine bird native to North America. A medium-sized member of the New World sparrow family, this species is marked by a grey face and black and white streaking on the upper head.
